GTA 6 Trailer: Every Official Reveal, Explained

Two trailers, one record-breaking gameplay deep dive, and a lot of internet confusion about a 'Trailer 3' that doesn't exist. Here's what Rockstar has actually shown.

Last updated

Rockstar has released two numbered trailers for GTA 6 and one extended gameplay reveal. Trailer 1 dropped in December 2023, Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, and "An Extended Look" — 26 minutes of pure gameplay — on August 27, 2026. For the record: there's no numbered Trailer 3, despite how often people search for one.

Trailer 1 — December 2023

The reveal that broke the internet, leaked a day early, and still felt like an event anyway. It confirmed Vice City's return, introduced Jason and Lucia, and racked up 93 million YouTube views in 24 hours — a record at the time, before Trailer 2 blew straight past it a year and a half later.

Trailer 2 — May 6, 2025

Dropped four days after the first delay announcement, with zero warning. All in-engine footage on PS5. It hit 475 million views across platforms in 24 hours — still the biggest video launch of all time, ahead of every movie trailer ever posted online. Full breakdown on the dedicated Trailer 2 page.

An Extended Look — August 27, 2026

Not a numbered trailer, but the closest thing to one right now: a 26-minute, all-gameplay deep dive that premiered on Netflix before landing on YouTube and the official GTA VI site six hours later. It covered combat, robberies, car theft, police chases, and switching between Jason and Lucia. Rockstar hasn't confirmed a fourth reveal, but with launch still months out, don't rule one out before November.

All official uploads are on Rockstar's own YouTube channel and rockstargames.com/VI.

Trailer 2, with 475 million views across platforms in 24 hours — the biggest video launch of all time, ahead of any movie trailer ever posted.

Not a numbered one. Rockstar's most recent reveal was 'An Extended Look,' a 26-minute gameplay deep dive, not a third cinematic trailer.

Not confirmed, but with launch still months away and a pattern of major reveals roughly every few months, another one before November wouldn't be a surprise.
